BC United announced today that Laurel Soccer Club will be the 7th Community Partner along with Brighton Township-Beaver Soccer Association, Hopewell Soccer Club, Knoch Soccer, Prospect Soccer, Riverside Area Youth Soccer League and SV North Soccer to join BC United. The partnership between the two Clubs allows Laurel's players access to professional coaching, Premier-level competition developmental programs through BC United's year-long schedule. In addition, Laurel will receive coaching support and development from the BC United staff.

“We look forward to bringing a comprehensive soccer experience to Lawrence ” said BC United Technical Director Walter Clapton. "With a dearth of high school programs in areas like Laurel and Shenango, BC United gives aspiring players a pathway to Premier Soccer and development plans tailored to those players," continued Clapton.

Clapton stated, “We seek to build strong young men and women, not just soccer players." He continued, "For $825, We guarantee C license coaching, Premier-level league play, and three tournaments, but we also have a youth leadership series, a captain's series, sports performance training and goalkeeper training included within the program itself - we aim to develop the complete person, not just complete player,”

Laurel Soccer Club, headquartered at C.J.Long Spartan Park in New Castle, primarily serves the Laurel School School but gives players in other Lawrence County schools without programs, Like Shenango, a place to develop their love of soccer. Laurel Soccer Club was started more than twenty years ago to fill a soccer in eastern Lawrence County.

“Our program is thrilled to become a partner of BC United," said Josh Geiwitz, Laurel President. "Our board was very careful to find the right Club for our players who are interested in advanced training - we wanted to ensure that the kids would not be treated like a number," Josh said. With multiple players already playing for Clapton's BC Club, the decision was easier. "Evaluating what BC stands for and seeing it in practice showed us that BC United is interested in developing well-rounded people and players who will our Club and the greater Laurel community," said Geiwitz.
